According to cargurus, for the 1996 Corvette was the last of the C4s. Although it was the last year of its generation, the 96 car had an optional new 350ci small-block RPO engine that was rated at 330 horsepower - the LT4. The LT4 was available only with the manual.
A Collectors Edition was available in Sebring Silver; it came in Coupe or Convertible form and with the LT1 or LT4 engine. The 96 Grand Sport in blue with white stripes was limited to 1,000 copies and came only with the LT4 engine.
The LT1 is nice, but for real speed, the CE LT4, with the manual gear box and 330+ horses, is the real deal!
The 1995 Corvette was selected to be the pace car for the Indy 500.
